Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports is once again proud to present our “Road to the Gold Ball” high school basketball coverage. CTBsports prides itself on bringing you the most comprehensive high school hoops coverage in Northwest Oklahoma. Over the last two seasons, we have broadcast 164 playoff games.
Our coverage begins Thursday, February 11th, with the Class B District Tournament from Cherokee on 95.7 FM KXLS. We’ll have all three days, featuring Timberlake, Burlington, Cherokee and Freedom.
On 107.1 FM KNID, it’s the Class A District Tournament from Ringwood on Friday, February 12th. We have both days featuring Ringwood, Cashion, and Pond Creek-Hunter.

January is Tournament Time!

The New Year will bring plenty of high school hoops to Northwest Oklahoma, and Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports will be there every step of the way. In January alone, the CTBsports staff will broadcast 70 games from three tournaments, over a 17-day span.
Our coverage begins of the annual Wheat Capital Tournament from Chisholm High School January 7-9. We’ll broadcast all eight games each of the three days on 95.7 FM KXLS.
AM 1390 KCRC’s longstanding tradition with the Skeltur Conference Tournament will have a new look January 14-16. The tournament has moved to the Chisholm Trail Expo Center and will be played in three days. All of the action can be heard on KCRC, as well as 95.7 FM KXLS.
CTBsports will begin its third season of broadcasting wall-to-wall coverage of the Cherokee Strip Tournament January 21-23. All three days will air live on AM 1640 “The Score!” and 107.1 FM KNID.

CTBsports Holds All-Star Banquet

Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports held its 2nd annual ESPN Radio CTBsports All-Star Football Banquet on Wednesday, December 16, at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center in Enid. We honored 24 of the best high school football players from Northwest Oklahoma and Southern Kansas with a dinner and awards ceremony.
At the end of the program, Garber’s Mark Harmon was named the CTBsports Coach of the Year, as voted on by his fellow coaches. Harmon led the Wolverines to the Class B State Title earlier this month. It was the second straight Gold Ball for Garber, who is 28-0 over the past two seasons.

2009 Pond Creek-Hunter Invitational Tournament

The Pond Creek-Hunter Invitational Tournament runs from December 7-12. For the third straight year, CTB Sports will bring you every single game, as a tip-off to our seemingly non-stop area basketball coverage. CTB Sports is your home for the Wheat Capital, Skeltur and Cherokee Strip tournaments in January, but the Pond Creek-Hunter Tournament is your first chance to see what many of those teams are made of this year.
Making up this year’s field of seven teams are the Covington-Douglas Wildcats, DCLA Eagles, Kremlin-Hillsdale Broncs, Medford Cardinals, Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers, South Haven Cardinals and Waukomis Chiefs.
Monday through Friday, the 4pm games can be heard on 1640AM The Score! All other games will air on 107.1FM KNID. And of course, every game will be streaming live around the world on www.ctbsports.com. Matt Howell, Tom Nelson and Ryan Morton will provide the live play-by-play and commentary.

Announces Second Annual ESPN Radio CTBsports All-Star Football Team
ENID, OK, December 2, 2009—Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports is excited to announce the formation of its Second Annual ESPN Radio CTBsports All-Star Football Team. The 24-man roster is made up of the best high school players in Northwest Oklahoma and Southern Kansas, regardless of school classification. Coaches from the CTBsports listening area submitted their nominations to form this group of exceptional athletes.
“Last year’s inaugural team and banquet were huge hits, so we’re excited to make this an annual event,” said Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports Director Matt Howell.
“Our area teams have enjoyed immense success in 2009, and these athletes have proven themselves as the best in their respective states.”

These athletes will be honored at a banquet December 16, 2009, at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center in Enid. The dinner begins at 6:30, followed by the awards portion of the program. At the end of the night, the 2009 CTBsports Coach of the Year will be announced.

CTBSports Announces High School Football Schedule

Hello area football fans,
We are just days away from the start of another exciting season of high school football in Northwest Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. With three stations dedicated to bringing you games each and every Friday night, we feel that Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Sports is your high school football home.
We will once again carry Enid High football on ESPN Radio AM 1390 KCRC. It should be an exciting year for Tommy Parker’s Plainsmen, as they try to make back-to-back playoff appearances.
On AM 1640 “The Score!” we will carry another full season of the Hennessey Eagles. Hennessey looks to be one of the favorites to capture an A-1 District crown and a Class-A State Title.
And on 107.1 FM KNID, it’s our Monsanto Area Game of the Week. A 14-game schedule once again awaits you the listener, and we’ll no doubt cover some of the best talent in the state.

Mid-South Regional Tournament

For the second year in a row, CTBsports.com and ESPN Radio 1390 KCRC will broadcast wall-to-wall coverage of the 2009 American Legion Mid-South Regional baseball tournament from David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma.
Radio and internet coverage of the tournament is presented by Advance Food of Enid. For our Internet listeners, you can click on any of the KCRC, KXLS, or KNID buttons to listen to the live stream.
Tournament coverage begins Thursday, August 6 at 9:20 a.m. (central) as the Louisiana champion Peake BMW from New Orleans takes on the NP Dodge Wildcats, the Nebraska runner-up squad from the Omaha metro area.
At 1 p.m. Hattiesburg, Mississippi takes on Mid-South Region defending champion Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Oklahoma Outlaws from Midwest City will play Texarkana, Texas at 4 p.m. and the host squad Enid Majors will battle Shelbyville, Kentucky at 7:30 p.m.
The tournament continues through Monday, August 10. The winner of the tournament will earn a berth in the American Legion World Series in Fargo, North Dakota.
