Week 14 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

Mediocre. That's how I would describe last week. I went 8-8 and 3-2 on my Jiving Five. But this week will be different. I say that and, yet, I'm already off to an 0-1 start. I thought Houston would end their losing streak, but they could not against Jacksonville. Now they're 2-11 and Gary Kubiak is out of a job. Even though I'm a Colts fan, I don't like their chances in Cincinnati. The Bengals … [Read more...]

Week 13 NFL Predictions

Thanksgiving Day was a blessing indeed. My grandma is the best cook. Great turkey, green bean casserole, stuffing, jello salad, and much more. It was also a pretty good day for my picks as well. I needed that after a horrendous week where I went 1-4 on John’s Jiving Five and 5-8-1 overall. Blecch. On the Thanksgiving Day games, I went 2-1 both on John’s Jiving Five and on picks straight up. Before … [Read more...]

Week 11 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

There were quite a bit of surprises during Week 10 of the NFL season. One of which was how the St. Louis Rams throttled the Indianapolis Colts 38-8. As a Colts fan, I was astonished and ashamed of the way my team played, but then again, they played that way against the Jets last year too and made the playoffs. We no longer have any winless teams as Jacksonville and Tampa Bay both got themselves in … [Read more...]

Week 10 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

I had another good week overall going 9-4 last week. As for “John’s Jiving Five,” I went 2-3. But I would like to preface that by saying that one of my picks was Green Bay (-11) over Chicago. Obviously, I’m not going to win that pick when Aaron Rodgers gets injured on the first series of the game. But, things are rolling for me now. Shockingly, the Packers are still favored in their upcoming … [Read more...]

Week 9 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

Week 8 of the NFL season was good to me. I went 10-3. I was a little let down by the Philadelphia Eagles. I picked them, but of course, Michael Vick can’t stay healthy. As for this week, there are tons of great division battles like Baltimore at Cleveland, Indianapolis at Houston, and Chicago at Green Bay. The Chicago/Green Bay matchup is the only game that features 2 teams that have winning … [Read more...]

Week 8 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

It was a pretty good week for me last week. Even though I picked against my Indianapolis Colts, they came through in one of the biggest regular season games I’ve seen in a long time. I finished 10-5 last week. I picked the NY Jets to win, but I really felt sorry for the Patriots because that call on the overtime field goal attempt was probably the worst call I’ve ever seen in a football game. … [Read more...]

Week 7 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

Well last week was certainly up and down. I went 9-6, but could have done better (Thank you Saints, Browns, and Texans). My goal this week is to get 11 wins and I think I can get there. I must admit it. Emotionally, this has been a difficult week for me with the return of Peyton Manning to Indianapolis. Being a Colts fan, I’m very torn. On the one hand, I want to see Peyton succeed, but not … [Read more...]

Week 6 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

AH! Now that’s more like it. Last week, I turned in a much better performance. In my picks , I went 10-4. Although one of my preseason picks is looking a lot like a tragedy and that’s the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. Their offense has struggled, but their defense hasn’t been anywhere close to good enough. But I digress. My upset picks this week include: Cleveland over Detroit, Pittsburgh … [Read more...]

Week 5 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

Good but not great. That’s how last week went for me on my NFL picks. I was 8-7, but it was an improvement over a 6-10 week the week before. I want to be picking my best late in the season, just like most teams want to be playing their best late in the season. My upset picks this week include: Tennessee over Kansas City, Indianapolis over Seattle, Baltimore over Miami, and Arizona over Carolina. … [Read more...]

Week 4 NFL Predictions

John Herrick

Well, I won’t sugarcoat it. I have been awful to start the year. Last week, I was a paltry 6-10. I was on the wrong end of a lot of close games. And to make matters worse, I went against my gut feeling of taking the Niners on Thursday and took the Rams instead. Ouch again. The good news? Things can’t get much worse. Here are my picks for Week 4. San Francisco at St. Louis                  St. … [Read more...]
